I am a 67 year old man who has had serious health problems mostly since 1985. In my earlier years, I used to go to a chiropractor all the time.
I became an electrical lineman and climbed hundreds of poles and fell off quite a few.
This year, 2008, while attending the Mesick Mushroom Festival, I seen a display for Van Skyhock Family Chiropractic. I took there little demonstration and found out my spine was in bad shape.
After accepting their offer, I went through thorough tests and explanations about the spinal system. I’ve been going to them 3 times a week now and feel like a new person. No more tired, aching, and sore muscles and back.
Just recently, I spent a weekend having difficulty swallowing and in the process, had called the ambulance because of choking on a pill. Just after calling, the pill dislodged and was able to cancel the ambulance request. The next morning, Monday, I had planned on going to Munson Hospital in Traverse City to have my throat checked because I was afraid of a growth in my throat due to several years of smoking.
Before going, I had an appointment with the Dr. Jason for a routine adjustment. I didn’t mention to Dr. J that I had the spell over the weekend. He did a fine adjustment on my spine and neck vertebrae and I returned home to get ready to go to the hospital.
While getting ready, I notice that I didn’t have trouble swallowing. I had my wife call the office and find out if it were possible that my adjustment could have cleared that up. Come to find out, yes it could very well be. They explained that Dr. Jason could feel my neck vertebrae out of alignment and concentrated on that area of my body. Since then, I have had no problem with swallowing.
I feel much better since I started treatment at the Van Skyhock Family Chiropractic. Little did I know that the adjustments would clear my throat and do things to my body that just one adjustment does.
I sleep better, feel better, and look forward to my appointment with the clinic.
I would not hesitate, as a matter of fact I do, one minute to recommend Chiropractic Care.
In between my should blades, it’s always tender. I have serious heart troubles and Dr. Jason explained that those are the vertebrae that control my heart muscles, so they will always be tender.
For anyone who has heard false horror stories about the use of Chiropractic care, I suggest you get rid of them and seek good, honest treatment. It is completely baffling how your spine being our of alignment can and will cause so many problems.
I have an Autistic grandson, and when he gets real upset, his parents take him to a chiropractor in Georgia and it straightens him right away.
This is a voluntary testimony that I offered to do for the practice because I am just one person that they have helped. Dr. J keeps running back and forth between 2 rooms continually adjusting someone to help them feel much better than when they started.
I will remain a faithful and thankful patient at the Van Skyhock Family Chiropractic, as long as the good Lord leaves me on earth. Each one of my days I spend at the clinic, makes each day much better and much more healthy. Thank you Dr. Jason and your staff!!

On or about, May 6, 2008 I, Elsie Taylor, woke up with excruciating pain in my lower back. This was not new pain, just more of it and more severe. It was a weekend and no doctors were available. So David, my husband, went over to talk to the “New Doc” that just moved into town. Jason Van Skyhock DC. and his wife Tonia.
I have a plate and a cadaver bone in my neck from surgery, supporting my c-3 and c-4 vertebrae, to keep me from becoming paralyzed if I fall, so x-rays are a necessity. They arranged for x-rays in the Traverse City office, stayed late, spent an hour explaining what was on the x-rays, and treated my problem . The pain subsided without medicine and I showed instant improvement. WOW!!!!
My balance has improved steadily. I have no more muscle pain. My overall well-being, energy, walking ability, has been improving with the Doctor’s recommended treatments.
Dr. Jason is the most thorough Chiropractor that I have ever been to. And I have been to many. each one with a different diagnosis, each one helping an individual problem. No one ever got to the root of my problems, a birth injury, caused by a very difficult delivery, compounded by early childhood injuries stressed by overuse of some muscles and nerves and the lack of use of others.
Start from birth adjusting your child’s spine. Prevention is the best cure of future problems. I speak from experience!!!! No promises of Cure, just improvement each step of the way…..
We have a Family Plan and David is also receiving treatments. The x-rays showed that David has a very good spinal column. However, I learned very early in life how to lift heavy objects PROPERLY with my legs. I also started working in the fields at or around age five. I have lifted more than my body weight for many, many years and still do so. However the years take their toll. Since getting adjusted, I walk with a better posture, and feel better all over, Dr. Jason found some sore spots and is adjusting them.
Dr. Jason is more thorough, and explains everything about the spinal column and the nervous system and their effect on the entire health of the whole body better than any Doctor I have ever been to. There are many….
